{Day 31} Take a Risk

I came across this quote recently from Thomas A. Kempis.

Yes, I desire peace...a big ol' helping please.  But these days it seems to be a battle to keep my peace amongst all the demands and rushing about.  Some days the peace seems to escape me as soon as my feet hit the floor and the rush of getting my 3 elementary school boys ready for school begins.

I do desire peace.  Peace in my house, peace in my schedule, peace in my mind, peace with who I am and how I'm spending my time, etc, etc.

So all that said, am I desiring the things that make for peace in those areas?  I think so.  Desiring them enough to do something about it?  Well, that's just why I decided to take this 31 Day challenge from The Nester.  I'm going to seek after peace by pursuing the things that would make for peace in this juggling girl's life.

Such as:
Pursuing regular quiet prayer/meditation time
Tackling organization projects
Simplifying the weekly schedule
Prioritizing creative time
Cultivating relationships with those who matter most
Meal planning
Beautifying my home on a dime
(and maybe just getting some sleep)

I'll be pursuing these things and sharing right here for the next 31 days.  Plus, I'll pass on some other goodies that I've already implemented that have brought a little peace to the house.

Like:
A Family Purpose Statement
A Daily Home Binder
A Family Command Center
My "Mini-Mudroom"

I'll make sure to share lots of pictures and pass on some books and blogs that have taught me along the way.

Starting tomorrow, {Day 2}, we'll begin dealing with the "inner mess" and highlighting the things that bring inner peace.  That way we'll be set up to tackle the "outer mess" and bring peace to those trouble areas later in the series.

So, I hope you'll join me here all this month

Can't wait. Needing more suggestions. Quiet times are the best, but there always seems to be more mess than quiet. If you know what I mean.
